  • Following a national consultation, Wales has today notified, via the EU Commission, proposed changes to the Approved documents to the Building Regulations parts A (structure), B (Fire Safety) and C (Site preparation and resistance to contaminants and moisture). The most relevant to wood based panels are the changes to Parts A and B.

The changes to Part A will, in the case of wood and wood based panels, be the removal of BS 5268 and replacement with references to the Eurocodes and associated PD document(s) for structural design.

In relation to Part B (Fire Safety) the proposed changes relate to thin wall linings such as wall paper and therefore there is no change in relation to wood based panels.
